Neighborhood Spotlight: Cotswold

Charlotte, NC has so many beautiful neighborhoods and areas to choose from when seeking a place to live. Whether you are buying or renting, Charlotte truly has something for everyone. A very popular neighborhood within Charlotte, NC is Cotswold.

Cotswold is located at the intersection of Randolph Road and Sharon Amity Road. The area has become quite desirable to live mostly because of the location as it is only minutes away from South Park Mall and very close to uptown Charlotte. The area is extremely residential as there are fabulous homes, townhomes and apartment rentals available. The neighborhood coined its name from the shopping strip originally named Cotswold Mall, which was Charlotte’s first suburban mall. The stores within the strip have changed over the last several years, however, it still remains a popular place for locals and other native Charlotteans to shop.

Although the Cotswold area is mostly residential, there are many businesses that reside in this neighborhood as well, particular businesses in the health care industry. Many doctor offices, dentists and specialists have offices in the Cotswold vicinity.

The shopping and dining in Cotswold are excellent too! Not only is Cotswold close to practically everything within the city, but the neighborhood restaurants and shops are fabulous as well. Why go too far? The Cotswold shopping center has a grocery store, florist, a salon, toy store, art supply shop, and much more! The dining options are also fantastic as there is an IHOP, Eddie’s Place and Charley’s. Across from the Cotswold shopping center is Colwick Road where Shun Lee Palace and Pizza Peel reside. Shun Lee Palace has a delicious variety of Chinese food, some of the best around Charlotte! Pizza Peel is a unique little hang out, as it is not only a pizza place but a taproom as well.

Cotswold is definitely one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Charlotte, NC. There are plenty of wonderful homes, townhomes, condos and apartments within the area. This neighborhood is a great place for families, moderately priced, and very close to uptown Charlotte.
