Lauren Scheer, MBA, AMS, PCAM, was recently named as Henderson Properties’ inaugural Director of Training. In this position, Lauren will share her gift of educational leadership development with clients and employees across all the Henderson Properties services. Lauren served as Henderson’s Association Division Manager before accepting this position.
Every year, Henderson Properties makes goals or “Key Initiatives” to achieve for the year. This year, the #1 Key Initiative is to educate our team and our clients. The management team made a list of the tasks necessary, and the list was so long, it was determined that in order to achieve this, we needed to make a full-time Director of Training position. We are grateful for Lauren’s excitement and skills in expanding the training initiatives.
Lauren owned an HOA management company for over 30 years. During that time, she co-created the Dedicated Community Association Leader (DCAL) program for the Nevada Chapter of the Community Associations Institute, authoring eight courses for this program, ranging from 3-7 hours each, for which the Chapter received a national award. The courses include financial management, building community, risk management, meetings, ethics, rules, maintenance and an overview. In addition, Lauren was hand-selected to co-author, and was the lead teacher for the University of Nevada at Las Vegas’ Community Association Management Precertification Program, a 60-hour training program for Community Managers. She is a Distinguished Toastmaster and named the 2012 Nevada PCAM of the year, and has served on non-profit boards of directors not only for community associations, but also public, private, and charter schools, youth sports teams, libraries, churches, and arts and health-related organizations.
In 2018, we have more than tripled the number of courses we offer, and we are creating many more for 2019. Here are the trainings being offered for Association Boards.

New this year are our monthly Monday Learning Labs. They will be held the first Monday of every month at 5:45pm (with exceptions for 2 holidays).
These quick essentials cover various topics in a casual learning environment.
Every quarter, Henderson Properties holds Extended Learning Labs (ELL) for more in-depth study of a topic. We have already held ELLs on insurance and legal issues. The remaining two ELLs will be held:
